Where do you plan to attend college and major in, and what are your career plans: I plan to attend the University of Tulsa and major in biochemistry. My career plans are currently uncertain, but I will probably study to either go on to the medical or research fields.

What school activities have you been involved in: I have been involved in student council, choir, string orchestra, basketball, soccer, flag football, drama and journalism.

What teacher impacted you the most and how: The teacher that impacted me the most has been Mr. Merritt. He taught Omnibus, economics, history, computer, health, theater, speech and debate, logic and rhetoric while also coaching us in flag football. His leadership and ability to teach well helped me succeed in every class taught by him. The numerous social events he planned for us have also been great opportunities to spend time with friends.

What is the most interesting school project/assignment you have done: The most interesting school project I have done was translating and voice acting portions of the Shrek movie into Latin. While it was fun to see the finished product, I also benefited by learning new Latin words and gaining experience in translating English into Latin, rather than the usual Latin into English.

What advice do you have for future high school graduates: My advice is to begin planning for college early. Things like studying for the SAT, looking at scholarship applications, and researching about schools and majors can begin as early or earlier than your first year of high school and will greatly improve your experience in your senior year.

My favorite Bible verse is Matthew 11:28 – “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
