News from Second Grade

The second-grade class has been working hard during their first semester of the 2020-2021 school year and are excited to start the second semester.

Here are just a few things that we have learned and done so far: In grammar, we classify sentences and write 2-point expository paragraphs. We love to read in second grade, and one of our favorite literature books so far is Sarah, Plain and Tall. In science, we have learned about different habitats and the amazing living and nonliving things that inhabit them. We have also learned about what makes up the earth, studying the different layers of the earth, oceans and continents, and volcanoes and earthquakes. For history, we have been studying Ancient Egypt and the historical events recorded in the Old Testament. Our lessons in Religion have also been concerning the Old Testament. Our favorite classes are Science, Religion, Latin, and Art.

We are very thankful for all your prayers and support and ask that you continue to keep our school in your prayers as we begin our second semester. We remain focused on God and His love for us, remembering our theme verse for the school year “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

Thank you and may God bless you this new year!
