COVID-19 Response Plan

COVID 19 Response Plan: This plan outlines how Faith Lutheran School will respond to a confirmed or potential positive COVID-19 infection.

Section 1: A member of the Student Body, Faculty or Staff develops symptoms on the CDC list of COVID-19 indicators (See Section 5) while in the sanctuary or education building.

**Student: Student will be isolated and screened for a potential positive COVID-19 infection. School will have established a designated area. They will be relocated with minimum physical interaction as possible to designated area.

If screening suggests a potential positive COVID-19 infection, then:
Teacher will notify Headmaster via text/phone of the potential positive case.
School will notify parent/guardian or emergency contact.
Student will remain in isolation room until picked up by parent/guardian.

**Staff/Faculty: Staff/Faculty will be isolated and screened for a potential positive COVID-19 infection. School will have established a designated area. They will be relocated with minimum physical interaction as possible to designated area.

If screening suggests a potential positive COVID-19 infection, then:
Staff/Faculty member will notify Headmaster via text/phone they are experiencing symptoms on the CDC list of COVID-19 indicators (See Section 5).
If they have available personal transportation, they will leave the facility, once the headmaster either personally supervises their class or has assigned an adult to supervise.
The students will be led by the supervising adult/headmaster to an alternative room while maintaining social distancing and they will remain in the alternative room until the end of the school day.

**Additional Actions: If screening suggests a potential positive COVID-19 infection, then:
Each student will be provided a written statement to indicate the action taken.
Classroom and any other area of the facility that student has accessed will be disinfected as quickly as can be scheduled.
Upon notification Headmaster will notify the BCE, Faith Lutheran Church’s other Pastors, the President of the Congregation and the Head of the Board of Elders.
In order for the symptomatic person to return to campus, the person must either have two negative COVID-19 tests administered 24 hours apart and after symptoms developed OR have met all three of the following criteria:
• 72 Hours fever free without the use of medication.
• All other COVID related symptoms have been recovered from.
• A minimum of 10 calendar days have passed since first symptoms occurred.

Section 2: A member of the Student Body, Faculty or Staff experiences COVID-19 symptoms (See Section 5) off campus or is informed by a medical professional that they are presumed positive for COVID-19.

All members of the Student Body, Faculty or Staff are required to inform the Headmaster of a positive lab confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis, presumed positive for COVID-19 by a medical professional, OR if they are experiencing symptoms on the CDC list of COVID-19 indicators via phone and not come to Faith Lutheran School’s campus.

Upon notification Headmaster will notify the BCE, Faith Lutheran Church’s other Pastors, the President of the Congregation and the Head of the Board of Elders.
A person with a positive lab confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis may return to campus only after he has two subsequent negative COVID-19 test administered at least 24 hours apart OR met all three of the following criteria.
 72 Hours fever free without the use of medication.
 All other COVID related symptoms have been recovered from.
 A minimum of 10 calendar days has passed since first symptoms occurred.

Section 3: Additional requirements for a person with a positive lab confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis.

Headmaster will notify the Collin County Health Department.
Headmaster will distribute a notice to parents/guardians of students.
Headmaster will then see that the physical areas the affected individual used are left vacant until disinfected OR 3 days have elapsed.

Section 4: A member of the Student Body, Faculty or Staff have Exposure to lab confirmed COVID-19 Individual.

Any member of the Student Body, Faculty or Staff who has become aware that they have been in close contact with a person who has a positive lab confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis must notify the headmaster and not access Faith Lutheran Schools facilities.
Close contact is defined as follows:
Being directly exposed to infectious secretions (e.g. being coughed on while not wearing a mask or face shield).
Being within 6 feet for a cumulative duration of 15 minutes, while not wearing a mask or face shield.

Individuals are presumed to be infectious for at least 2 days prior to symptom onset or 2 days prior to the administration of the COVID-19 test if they are asymptomatic.

Exposed individual may not return to campus until the 14 day incubation period has passed from the time of their exposure without testing positive for COVID-19 or having COVID-19 symptoms.

Section 5: People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:
Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea
