Faith Lutheran High School sophomore Mwamure Njuguna recently scored among the top five percent of students in the Southwest Region on the CLT10 Classic Learning Test and received recognition from CLT for his outstanding test results.
“It is always a great pleasure to see our dedicated and talented students recognized,” said Faith Lutheran School Headmaster Rev. Stephen W. Kieser. “We are very proud of Mwamure and his many accomplishments.”
The CLT10 is the official preparatory exam for the CLT. It is designed for high school freshmen and sophomores. The exam takes two hours and tests for the similar content as the CLT, at an age-appropriate level and with fewer questions of the highest difficulty. Students take the exam on their own laptop or tablet, and receive their scores the same day. The CLT10 provides scholarship opportunities through our partnership with the National Association of Scholars.
The Classic Learning Test (CLT) is the new standard for college entrance assessments. It is designed for high school juniors and seniors. The CLT takes two hours, and tests for grammar, literary comprehension, and mathematical and logical reasoning; it also contains an optional, ungraded essay portion. Students take the exam on their own laptop or tablet, and receive their scores within 24 hours (note: for the new remote-proctored CLT, please allow 1 to 2 weeks before final score release), which they can then share with colleges of their choice at no charge.
Classic Learning Initiatives was founded by Jeremy Tate in 2015, to provide alternative standardized tests rooted in tradition and taking advantage of modern technologies. Featuring passages selected from great works across a variety of disciplines, the CLT suite of assessments provide a highly accurate and rigorous measure of reasoning, aptitude, and academic formation for students from diverse educational backgrounds. The exams are taken online in two to three hours, and all three assessments (traditional CLT, CLT10, CLT8) give test results within 24 hours. The CLT also provides colleges and secondary schools with detailed information about student learning trends, to facilitate decisions about admissions, curricula, and instruction.
