News from 4th & 5th Grade

Twenty-three desks, twenty-three chairs, twenty-three students who are praying, singing, learning, and working. That is a snapshot of the daily occurrences in Room 204.

We are enjoying all sorts of studies: New Testament Bible accounts, Luther’s Small Catechism, arithmetic practice, Latin with Miss Bogle, various parts of God’s creation, poem recitation, English grammar, creative writing, Medieval history with Mrs. Rivers, Texas history, and good literature books.

Music is an important part of our time together also! We love to sing hymns in all-school devotions and Chapel. We also sing together as a class, and we recently shared some of our memory work and hymn-singing with the residents at Garnet Hill Rehabilitation Center. Many of us sing in the school choir with Mrs. Ingram too, and we have been able to bring some of that music to the members of Faith Lutheran during church services. Under Mr. Abbott’s direction, students in Grade 4 get to learn more about music by way of playing the recorder, while students in Grade 5 get to have their first taste of playing an instrument with a band.

We are so thankful for the opportunity be in the Word of God together each day! We appreciate all of those who support our classical Lutheran education and the foundation in Christ that it gives us.
