Mrs. Erika Mildred
Mathematics Teacher

Education: BA from Concordia University, River Forest, IL; CCLE Classical Teacher Certification

Describe your responsibilities at Faith Lutheran School: I will be teaching Saxon Course 2 for 6th and 7th graders, and I will be teaching Algebra II in the high school.

What do you like best about your job at Faith Lutheran School? I love the faculty and staff here at FLS. I also already know quite a few students and families from church and from my time here as a parent. I look forward to working with the older students and getting to know them better this year and to share my passion for mathematics!

What do you think makes Faith Lutheran School a unique and special experience for students and parents? Classical Lutheran education is a wonderful gift for any student. The teachers and staff at FLS are deeply committed to this form of education and to the parents and students whom they serve. In addition, you can tell that we are a family at Faith. I am delighted to have my children attend here and to partner with parents for their children’s education.

What kind of hobbies or special activities do you enjoy outside of work? I love to sing, play piano, play basketball, volleyball, & softball, go for walks, read, go out to eat, play board games and cards with my children and husband, and spend time with friends.

What was your favorite childhood book? When I was a child, I loved The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf, the Ramona series, and when I was in high school, Frankenstein, Brave New World, and anything written by Shakespeare or Jane Austen. Now that I’m a mom, I love reading the “Click, Clack, Moo” series, Paddington, and the Classic Starts series to my kids.

Is there anything else you would like to add to you bio? In addition to all things math, I am a “grammar girl” at heart!
